When I bought my latest SC, The owner told me he had replaced the ignition switch and then lost the door key. After taking a trip and not being able to lock my doors, I decided to try all my old 914 and 911 keys. Believe it or not, the first key I tried fit the door. I take this as my lucky day. There must be some ratio of keys to cars that fit. In other words, of every say 100 911 cars sold in this era, how many have the same key.
