Which Oddysey Battery?

I currently have dual batteries in front which seem to have died as they weren't being used for a little over a year due to an engine fire. So now that my car has been repaired, it's time to get the batteries in order. I was thinking this might be a good time to convert over to the Oddysey battery instead of the Dual conventional batteries at the front corners. Which battery should I use? I would like to mount it in the smugglers box if possible, but if I can't, no big deal, I'll just use one of the two battery boxes up front. I don't have anything like power windows or anything, not even a radio, just need to be able to crank over my 3.6 964 engine. What experience do you guys have with this? Thanks in advance for your answers.

The PC680MJT is a convenient size to fit in the smuggler's box, and if you look around a bit you can find a handy aluminum mount made just for it. I have used them in a 3.6 conversion, and a 930, and they work fine. FWIW, I also use one in my race car that has an 11:1 8.3 liter engine, and it cranks that over well enough to work in that application too.

I used to have the odysey 1200 up front. It fit perfect. It's smaller than my current interstate Sears one.

I went with and optima mounted sideways over a year ago, but wish I had gone with an odysey. Nobody stocked them locally when I was searching but now the local interstate battery shop has them and their brackets.

I use this same battery and don't have any problems with it. It only weighs 13lbs!

I am using this one and have had no issues... Even held a full charge after sitting on a shelf in the garage all winter. I bought it from the vendor in the link with no issues: Portable Power Systems

I put a Odyssey PC 680 in my SC with the mounting bracket shown on the Portable Power Systems web site. It fits great up against the wall in the smugglers box. It's amazing that such a small battery does the job, and I have power windows and a stereo. No A/C. Your car will lose alot of weight in a critical part of the car.

Odyssey 925 in my '87 Carrera no problems so far. That gave me room front of it to install an early windshield washer bottle. [got rid of the monster in the left front wheel well]

Thanks everyone! Sounds like I'm making a great choice. Eric, thanks for posting that link. I just might have to get the mount they have for it. I may just make a mount myself since it looks pretty easy to do, but definitey gave me some ideas.
