Need Spring Plate Width Measurements
In talking with Chuck from Elephant Racing, we discussed several reasons for the abnormal spacer requirement that my car needs for proper polybronze installation.
To help sort this out, I need some additional information: 1. What is the thickness of the stock non-adjustable spring plate? 2. What is the thickness of the factory adjustable spring plate? 3. If you have Weltmeister adjustable spring plates, what is the thickness of the spacers that come in the kit? The spacers go under the torsion bar cover plate bolts I am told. Also, if you have a pair of straight, unmolested torsion bar cover plates, let me know! Thanks, David |
Anyone?

"1. What is the thickness of the stock non-adjustable spring plate?"
Stock non-adjustable plates on my 72E are about 4mm "2. What is the thickness of the factory adjustable spring plate" Stock adjustable plates that I purchased that came from 86 (I think) are about 4mm too. |

Item #2: Would this be 4mm EACH PLATE = total of 8mm? Or, is this 2mm each plate = total of 4mm? Thanks! |
Each plate is 4mm thick (according to my cheap caliper!) in both my adjustable and non-adjustable spring plates.

Thanks Tim! Very helpful.
Anyone out there with Weltmeister adjustable spring plates that can tell me if they are using a spacer under the bushing retainer plate and approximately how thick the spacer is? Thanks! David |
