Oil pressure fluctuation
I have removed the engine of my porsche ( 2.7l) to repaint the engine and change the hoses. When driving the car, I noticed that the oil pressure dropped at about 3000 rpm. could it be the oil pressure sender that is defective? If so, where is it located on the engine? Is it the litle swich on the rigth side of the fan? Thanks in advance.

The pressure switch is at the fly wheel end of the engine by a small cover that connects the breather hose to your oil tank.

While the pressure switch is at the rear of the motor (close to the tranny) and hard to get at, the sender that runs your gauge is on the front (near the rear bumper) of the engine and much easier to access. Mine looks just a little smaller than one of those (little weenie) Vienna Sausage cans. Check the electrical connections!!
