You can be racing in about 6 weeks. Here's the formula: Sell the SV650 ($3K), the Miata ($8K), the SC ($13K). That's nearly $25K. Buy a used Suburban ($8K) to tow with. BEFORE you buy a race car, rent a SM to get thru your schools/novice permit. That'll be about $2K but its money well spent to make surer you really want to do it. That leaves another $10K or so. Buy a used, basic SM or S7 for $4K. Figure another $1K to freshen everything (tires, pads, etc). Borrow your friend's trailer...hell, he ain't using it.

Go racing. Oh yeah...the extra $5K left over should be stashed for the divorce lawyer's retainer. :D
