Question Weltmeister VS Wong

Howdy,
I'm looking for feedback concerning the differences between Steve Wong and Weltmeister performance chip. They both seem to cost about the same, so which is better? The chip will go into an 87 Targa.
Thanks
Carl

If you talk (or write to) Steve Wong, you will know what choice to make. (Wong)

I've run both and the Steve wong chip is THE ONE YOU WANT!!
No comparison. Put a cat bypass on with the o-2 sensor connected and you have the least expensive way to make more
power for the 3.2. EVERY THING ELSE COSTS MORE AND RETURNS LESS.

Carl:

I hope I am not too over the top with my praise for Steve Wong and his 3.2 Chip, but here it goes:

Steve's current chip for the 3.2 makes my car accelerate with much more urgency from the lower end of the RPM scale up to redline. My idle is also smoother than with the stock chip.

As a person, Steve is brilliant, kind, and generous. I cannot thank him enough for spending time answering all my questions, personally showing me how to install the chip, helping me online to diagnose an electrical problem with my car, then repairing my ECU for a simple thank you and the satisfaction of knowing he helped out a fellow Porsche enthusiast in a jam.

Steve is one in a million!

Try that with Weltmeister...

Sincerely,

Mike

Almost all of the other chip manufacturers (other than Steve) achieved their high horsepower claims by adding excessive ignition advance, and by excessively raising the rev limit. Steve does neither, and does a lot more with the fuel maps. No comparison.

Weltmeister is a one size fits all, off-the-rack suit. Wong is a custom tailored, bespoke affair.

Wong will optimize the chip for YOUR car. Tell him what mods, intake and exhaust you're running and he'll build to suit.

heck, I have carbs, and even I know that there is no answer other than Wong. BIGtime reputation he has.

Also, Weltmeisters rep is definately low buck...no sense in bothering to do a Weltmeister.

That's kind of a blanket statement. You don't even consider their steering rack spacers worthy?

I'd say that Wong is right also. But, don't expect a night and day difference. Reading some of the praise, you'd think you'd installed something radically effective, like a K&N filter or something!

Seriously, a chip alone will make a barely detectable difference in seat of the pants performance. Even with an intake and exhaust, the gains are subtle. Spend wisely.

I wouldnt put "anything" Weltmeister in my car. As for the SW chip, it is by far the best chip availible for your 911.

I vote Steve as well. I have a few performance chips in my possession, including a weltmeister. It has no rev limit programmed in....non. Probably changed over the years but scary nonetheless.
