964 front bumper "bar"

Hi,

I recently purchased a 911 SC converted to 964 (interior + exterior) which is in a very good condition. Only the front bumper bothers me, it is an original one but the plastic bars are not "aligned" correctly.
Image (BIG)

Does anyone know how these are held together originally as the middle one is "hanging".

Thanks in advance,

Ward

this tech article will fix you right up:

http://www.porsche964.co.uk/

go to 'technical', then 'body and interior', then 'crooked grin straightening'

Can someone else please post a closeup of his 964 front bumper? Is the black "grate" shown on the pics in the article original?

As I don't have this in my front bumper and probably this is the reason then why my middle "bar" hangs down.

Thanks

Bigchillcar,

I didn't mean specifically his car but any other 964 :-) I noticed little "clips" in the middle bar of the bumper, are they held in place by the black grate?

i actually plan on doing this job soon..my smile could use a little work as well. i'd guess just the opposite - the clips probably hold the grate in place.

the black grating alone may be hard to find. you could try posting a 'wtb' ad in the pelican classifieds and maybe one on rennlist. or try e-mailing pelican to see if they can get this part..kinda doubt they stock it, but i could be surprised.
