71 shell needs some answers

Hey guys, Sorry If this is not in the correct thread
I'm a newbie that's inherited a "less than roller" 71e Hull. It does not have the suspension(front or rear)nor shocks & torsion assemb., trans, or front clip, and I'm trying to figure out how to properly getting it back to rolling status.
My plan is to finish out the turbo look, yet put a 912 or VW engine in it (it'll be my 17yr olds car);) . What would be the proper Transmission and rear trailing arm to get for doing this?
Your comments are greatly appreciated, and thank you.

For the suspension, pick up a full 911SC suspension from a dismantler.

Has the widebody look already been started?

Be sure to visit www.dorkiphus.com for local p-car help.

If you are going to do the car up right i hope you'll keep it such that the 4banger can be pulled a few years down the road and a nice 2.2, 2.4 or even 3.0 or similar put in it's place. Would be a neat thing for your son to work towards.

I'm in the process of parting an SC out and have a lot of the parts that you need. Shoot me an email at rmshaner(at)hotmail(dot)com if you are interested.

The SC stuff would be good - a Carrera front end will give you a bit more braking power.

Since you have a conveniently stripped shell, now is the time to seam weld it for more rigidity; check it over carefully for any rust at; strip off old sound deadening; repaint it, etc.

There are many threads on this if you use the search button on the bottom of the main page, lower RH side.

You can either build a track car, or a very nice street hot rod "R-Gruppe style."
