Question Help with reasons for fuel starvation

My 73 with MFI is experiencing fuel starvation problems. The MFI pump was freshly rebuilt and checks out. The car has to run super rich to keep from stalling, and lacks power. It goes, but without any authority.

I need you help to assemble a list of possible areas to check which might be contributing.

1. Bad gas tank vent.

2. Fuel strainer (wire mesh) inside tank is clogged.
take a look at it with a flashlight (battery powered) by removing the sending unit.

Am I the only one who thought this was funny?

Oh, and I second that Weiner guy...he seems to know what he's talking about most of the time.

only phrased it like that because last time I posted the same thing, (different thread), other "MFI experts" jumped all over the comment with the perils of an electric spark induced fire.

If there are only 4 places to look, I will consider myself lucky! Most jobs are far worse.
