I have ascended

I'll let the pictures do the talking..I'm kind of choked up:

old shot in my driveway:

and at Laguna Seca last month:

new shot(s) in my driveway:

Can I even begin to thank the Pelican board members for the advice, friendship, inspiration, camaraderie, and personal experiences that I've experienced over the last five or whatever years that I've been here - NO I cannot.

Can I thank Wayne Dempsey enough for hosting this site which became part of my life. NO I cannot.

I guess I'll still be around, and even post now and again, but you know the Rennlist 996 board is where it's at for us water pumpers for the time being.

I can't really explain what I'm feeling right now. It's a real mix. I was a dyed in the wool airhead for pretty close to TEN years. Today I picked up my 2002
996 Carrera - no PSM, some Carbon fibre accents. lightweight 18 inch wheels...so far it's absolutely BLOWING my mind.

It's a real Porsche boys, I know what you're thinking, I've thought and said the same many times over the years. My lifestyle has changed (kids, very busy career) and this WILL keep me happy. It's SMOKING fast and yes, it has a harsh enough ride to scratch that itch.

Will I go back to air cooled Porsches one day....I hope so. In the meantime. Thank You (especially to Wayne).

Congrats Jasper! That's a sweet ride. Can't wait to see it at the local events.

Each generation of 911 is unique and you just have to enjoy them for what they are. Besides, who's to say you won't have more than one parked in the driveway further down the road!

You have ascended? More like "defected."

I guess it's the way of things, and I will hopefully one day also defect...

Pfffft, now you need Motons, tequipment roll bar, harnesses, muffler bypass, and BBS Motorsport wheels wrapped in MPSCs...stop wasting time in front of the computer and get out and drive

Very nice! I'm planning the same move, but I'll make room in the garage for both the watercooled and aircooled. I have too much time and money in the 930 to see it go just yet.
