Hood Pins for a 77 911

Hi,

I want to buy hood pins for my rear decklid which is a fiberglass Duck Tail. When ordering the pin set, is there anything special I need to be aware of or do all basically fit all cars? Also, how difficult are they to put on?

Thanks,

David

Any Hot Rod or National Auto Parts store will have a selection of hood pins. Usually mixed in with the "Ricer Go Fast Crap"....or you can go online and check out Summit or Racer's Wholesale....

BTW....ducktails usually use the rubber tie downs like on the olf VW dune buggies.....TRE Motorsports carries them.

Can you even use these on a 77 911? I would think the reflector would get in the way. So with the pins, any set would work? No special length or something else to worry about?

By the way, my deck lid won't stay down. I have tried adjusting but with no luck. I honestly don't mind the pins. It sort of goes with where I am taking the car anyways, if it doesn't help the car drive and uses cables or wires, I am taking it out.

Thanks,

David

You could mount the swivel end on the bumper and the clip on the duck....use the longer rubber model. The pins require a pretty good sized hole to be drilled in both the hood AND the body.
