smog pump vent line
I recently converted my 80 SC from OEM/stock exhaust to SSI and M&K.Additionally I removed the euro smog pump.
The smog pump had a vacume line running from the smog pump to >> air box someplace. Should this vacume line be plugged or leave it open? kgl

Kim,
I'm not familiar with the Euro system but I bet it's like the U.S. and if it is, there is a check valve located just above the engine sheet metal from which the hose from the pump attatches to hard lines that run into the exhaust ports. If this sounds right, then there is no need to plug the valve because it is "one way" and only allows pressurized air (from the pump) to be injected into the ports. Without a picture this may not make sense, buy you can do a parts search on the Pelican site and see the parts in a diagram. In short, no need to plug the valve unless you want extra insurance. On my 75, I removed all the plumbing and plugged the tapped holes in the heads--there's a kit for that. Hope this helps. edit: Just re-read your post and maybe misunderstood. Are you talking about the opening at air box? If so, I'd say plug it.
