To use SWB NOS parts or to not use SWB NOS parts, that is the question

I have a small rust problem (just checked and found it all) and some how I found all the NOS parts I need to repair it. The question is, do I use the NOS parts or just repair the areas with sheetmetal. It will be a perfect job no matter which route I take so the vehicles integrity is not in question. As a collector or all things with a great story I find that a large piece of a Porsche never used since 1964 when it was made to be an amazing piece of history. I have a bunch of it now and I honestly cannot bear to use them. What would you do? I plan on turning them into hanging sculptures on my wall.

It depends on what you see in the future. NOS stuff would probably be worth much more to a restorer of a completely original 1964 than the value of a used front clip from a dry country car. If you expect that your next 911 restoration will be a 100 point Manhattan Trophy winner, then it makes sense to hold onto it. Likewise, if you don't intend to have this car forever, hold onto the NOS metal.

That being said, sheet metal is not an investment.

What did you find, exactly? If you would rather say privately, send me a PM.

I could care less about the money! NOS pieces are all just sheetmetal parts, not sure what they are 100% but I just love them.

Save the NOS pieces. Good quality sheetmetal cut, adjusted and welded into the car as rust patches will look just as good if its done right and if the source is other cars, Restoration Design or NOS parts, but we will never see the NOS pieces themselves intact and unused again...yes, I am also a nostalgia nut for certain things.
