Unhappy Druck Press Gone

Hi

It seems that the oil pressure has dropped.

Used to sit at 1bar at idle and go up with the revs,

ie. 1k revs 2bar oil and so on.

So i checked all the normal things, and went

and got a new oil pressure sender.

The thing is the temp has started to go up too!!!!!!

This has not happened before and im a little worried that the

Oil pump could be on its way out.

It did it the other week then was fine up till last week.

Do they do this sort of thing? Or pack up totally.

Im not sure if i heard a tappin sound at a higher rev-range

Only heard it twice but still.

And dont want to do any more damage than already done.

Any help, info would be gratefully appreciated

Thanks Paul.

Almost certainly the pump. I would drain the oil, and run it through a strainer to inspect for metal particles. The rising temp indicates you are not getting oil into the heads. Don't run the motor until you figure this out. If you are lucky, there is a blockage that is preventing the oil from flowing into the top end. Good luck.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I had always heard that the 911 had a pretty sout and long-lived oil pump...?

The rising oil temp would concern me too
