Erratic needle - Oil Press Sending Unit or the Gauge?
Recently, my oil pressure gauge needle has been making little variations or tiny 'bounces' and now is indicating a little lower than usual. Is this a Gauge problem or a sending unit problem?
Also, if I recall, it is either the oil temp sending unit or the oil pressure sending unit that is a b*tch to remove. Anyone done this? Otherwise the engine runs and sounds normal. Thanks...

Just took another look at it. It seems the AC bracket may have to come out of the way to get the sender out, still looks like a tight squeeze.

generally speaking, if the gauge moves, it's ok. the sender replacement requires removing the top of the A/C bracket. remove the sender and it's mounting block as a unit and clamp the block in a vise to separate the two.

FWIW: Mine bounces all over the place when revving/moving, too. At idle or cruising it remains steady. Not sure if this is a defect or SOP.

Make sure to clean all of the electrical connections too. Sometimes nothing is actually broken, just dirty.
