A stupid heater blower question:
Thanks in advance.
How hard is the heater blower "supposed" to blow? I mean, I can hear it turn on when I have the ignition on but the engine off. But it doesn't really seem like it's doing much. The heat still is more of a whisper than anything. My early car with no blower burns my feet off, especially at healthy rpm's. Is my SC supposed to blow hot air on my feet, or just kind of creep up on me?

My blower, controlled by red knobs behind the hand brake, blows hard enough to keep the car warm with the top off.
The windshield blower is another story, weak and noisey. It is easy for the plumbing to get loose or disconnected. I did have issues with the blower motor coming apart and popping a fuse once. Last edited by tt_targa; 04-18-2007 at 08:35 PM.. |

The stock blower on a stock heat exchanger system on an SC flows a marginal amount of air. I don't recall it coming close to the flow for the fresh air blower. Any breaks in the heating hoses will compromise what little flow it does provide. A nice upgrade is installing footwell blowers and removing the rear blower.
