What is the specification for the aluminum alloy?
Knowing this we can predict what the finish would look like if we chose to polish and anodize the wheels. thanks, JT |
any updates on these? (for widebody fitment)
|
Subydude needs to get the 7.5 and 9s shipped and delivered first. No time frame on the turbo fitment yet. I'm hoping it will be soon.

I would like a set. I was just about to order some CCW wheels but if 9x11's are on the way I will wait.

Any update on the 9s & 11s?

With the ROTA 7.5 and 9" rims starting to arrive one of the other threads was starting to ask when the 9" and 11" sets were going to follow.
Moses and Subydude have indicated (in this thread and others) that they are likly to be next and Subydude started this thread off to get feedback as to the offset. Bill Verburg as usual has come up with some good data from his databank and suggested some offsets which would work for the Turbo guys and allows them to keep their stock spacers. For those of us without Turbo's but stock suspension with Flared guards I thought I'd do some measurements over the weekend using my car as a base. Currently running CUP2's 7.5" stamped ET23 at the front with 1" spacers and 9" stamped ET15 at the rear with 2" spacers. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1188788989.jpg Using Bills meathod of measurement, (measured in Inches, converted to mm's) Front: 133.4BS, 82.6FS, 25.4ET for rim Rear: 142.9BS, 111.1FS, 15.9ET for rim If you include the spacers to get an equivalent rim (1"=25.4mm, 2"=50.8mm) Front: 108.0BS, 108.0FS, 0ET Rear: 92.1BS, 161.9FS, -34.9ET In other words, if I had 7.5" and 9" rims to these ET, I would not need the spacers. Now, if I want the same guard fill for my 9" and 11" rims (I'm already spaced out as far as I want) the Front space measurements should stay the same = 108.0 at front and 161.9 at rear. This means for me (and anyone else happy with the same guard fill) you are looking for ET19.1 at the front for the 9", and ET-9.5 at the rear for the 11". If you look at the ROTA 9" just made as potential front rims, they are ET16, so for those of us non-Turbo folks they will sit 3mm further out - I can live with that. Which leaves the issue of the rear rims - Based on Bills data the non turbo guys can go with the Turbo offset and use 35mm spacers or wait for a special product batch or convince the Turbo folks they don't want their 28mm rear spacers and have a production batch we can all use. For me, it means my rears being 7mm further in or using thin spacers to push them back out. I wonder if the majority of the Turbo guys would be happy to go without the 28mm spacers at the rear? Bill - could I request you check my numbers By the way, I have used the words spacers here - but in my case I use adapters. Tim |
I think if us widebody guys will have to run spacers then ill just bow out, my whole desire for these wheels was to get away from spacers. so lindsey is coming back in the picture for me, Kevin
i bet you are right more of widebody guys will want the wheels over the turbo guys that already have them, |
If we can convince the Turbo guys they don't want their 28mm spacers at the rear, then you should have your wish.
Non-Turbo wide = Existing 9" at the front and new 11" at rear Turbo guys = new 9" at front and new 11" at rear That way we all win and Subydude maximises the market potential by making the 11" suitable for both groups. Tim |
Heres my thought, the turbo guys dont want to devalue there car with aftermarket fake fuchs, us guys that have widebodies want wheels that fit and dont care about fake because our cars are hotrodded already, I feel there is a smaller market for REAL turbo cars then you may think seeing how those guys can usualy afford fikse, bbs etc etc and not inexpensive knock offs, Kevin

Your measurements look simialr to mine, if not exact. I currently have the turbo Fuch 16x7x9 with 1" front and 2" rear adapters. Front spacing on front wheel is 100mm, and rear wheel is 160mm. This is similar to yours but my wheels are hidden way inside the fender lips. I think I need at least 0.5" (if not 1") to fill up the wheel wells. If your flare under spec. or mine is over spec.? Or maybe I hae too much negative cambers? |
Hard to know with the flair's - although the new 3.0RS front bolted on OK.
Any idea how to measure it? I certainly don't have much negative camber (yet). Whats your Front Space measurement not including the adapter? Tim |
I'm almost inspired to sell my Fikse's and buy two sets of these when they're done. :)

Front: 100mm - 1" (~25mm) ~ 75mm. Rear: 160mm - 2" (~50mm) ~110mm. My rear is a little more than 160mm but less than 161mm. Another thought, why not base on Fikse or Kenisis 17x8x10 or 17x9x11 wheels. I bet many people here have those wheel sto verify. Emptyo for example is one :) The below are some pics I found which best describe the gaps: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1188841454.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1188841481.jpg |
Hi Jack
Keep me in mind for a set, need something to fill those arches on BBT;) Paul |
Let me know when the 930 rims are ready to deliver...I'll take one set...maybe two.
|
My offsets aren't exactly right on. I've had to use spacers to get them to work on my early car, so I'm probably not a great example. I've got 17 X 9 and 17 X 13 (!) Fikse's on my car, and I think I'm actually going to sell them, and get two sets of these RSR wheels. It depends on how they compare in weight to my Fikses.
