Need some help w/pic

I've have an adapter that looks like it goes in between the cdi box and harness of the 3.0 I'm building. Does anyone one what it connects too? I'm thinking it goes to an after market cdi, but I don't know which one.

Just took a look at my 81 SC. The black rubber connecter goes to the CDI, but there is no connector like the white one on the other end. It just goes into a bundle ogf wires that end up by the rear fuse box.

This doesn't answer your question about what CD box the wires go to - but it might help trace the wires themselves.
Help ID wires for 6 pin CD connector

rs6er,
I thought the CS cdi was six pin? The black connector has eight pins. I think they had another cdi box and this is the adapter that goes between the harness and the other cdi box. What do you think? I wish I knew what it fit.

You are correct. I just checked and it is 6-pin.
