My trip to see 911teo's beast!

So Matteo and I have been trying to plan a little get together in Charlotte. He wanted to see Scruffy before heading across the pond, and I wanted to see his project. We both have a vision for what we want our cars to be and it will be cool to compare those and get some new ideas, etc.

So the wife and I hit the road around 2 PM today and the trip has been great. Our first hotel was a dump so we skipped it and now we are just about 20 miles out of Charlotte. Here is the route we took:

HWY 64 to Lexington KY
HWY 40 to Asheville NC
HWY 26 to HWY 85 to Charlotte

Here is a pic of the car from my recent trip down to Texas. Lots of pics to come from this weekend.

Any of my old PelicanHead friends in Charlotte feel free to drop me a PM.

Stay tuned fellas!

Open top and press large pedal on the right....that should do it. Love the look of the car.

thanks guys, we've got a family get together set up, not sure what else I'll keey you posted.

appreciate the props on the interior. she is pretty dirty now. I got a nasty rock chip off a big truck on the way down. basically a stone skipped off my hood!

seems like a lot more cops are running laser too, bad news. as I got closer to the city I noticed it a lot.

hey Dave, good to hear from you. I will be out there, driving my old car while Tyson drives his car, but no Scrufffy. Next year yes!

Here are some pics from Zuffenhaus, the TRE of the south in my view. Lots of fun projects going on around here, they were kind enough to help me adjust the top on the car.

you guys have got to see this car to really appreciate the level of detail and thought going into it. I've had the chance to look at a lot of cool 911's and this is one of the best I've looked at bar none.

Aw damn looks like I missed meeting you James!

Ah well.

The car has really come along from when I saw it back in February. I'm glad to see the progress!

Unhappy

made it back! a very long trip when a little bit tired and hung over...

Here are some pics from the way back. A very nice day for being out on the road. Until about noon we had the hwy to ourselves.

we stopped at this rest stop to walk a bit.

the wife has decided that she too wants a Porsche. she'd kill me if she knew I was posted her sans make-up... shhhh

I am really happy with the new exhaust set-up. I've tried a number of different exhausts and this one is perfect for me. Not too loud, not too quiet, just right.

I've been collecting these badges, not sure if I will keep them on the car, but they are there for now.

Are you guys tired of pics of the car yet? I just love having it back on the road and moving towards being a finished project (is there such a thing?)

James, what type of seats are those you are ridding around with? And how were they for the long trip? They look great, any pcitures showing the 2 side-by-side? Was thinking of changing mine out but still have not decided.

these are from Sparco. they are called the Milano Prestige. the are leather and have several adjustment points and also the open points for safety harnesses.

to address your question of comfort, it depends on your taste. these are firm seats. they hold you in place. I'd say a good compromise between street/track. we just spent 9 hours in them and had no issue.

they are about 1700 each plus the brackets to install them. let me know if you have any more questions.
