Porsche Crest Body kit for '78 widebody 911...?

Hi guys, I'm a newie. Just spent a good few hours reading through this forum, love it!! I'm from Melbourne, Australia and it's hard to get good advice or info here.

Anyway I have a question that hopefully someone will be able to answer. I want to buy a body kit the same as the car in the pic below. Does anyone know much about this kit? I found it available on better bodies motorsports, has anyone bought this kit from there (they call it a D-2) and is the quality ok? I haven't seen it on any of the other major body kit pages mentioned on this forum.

There is a place in Australia that imports them from China (www.carmate.com) but they said they can't get them at the moment - supplier is having "issues". Hard to believe the quality would be good from there either...!

Anyway, if you know anything about this kit then please tell me. I'm planning on fitting it to my 78SC (steel widebody flares). Thanks!

My GT-2 kit came from Better Bodies. Panels are solid/top quality...

But...your car looks way too nice to cut. Can you find something with a rougher body & good mechanicals?

Why would you ruin one of the most beautyful cars in the world with a heap of plastic/fiber glass??

I dont know about that particular kit, but I have the RUF/935 mirrors purchased from them and they are a good product.

Pingo raised a good point, your car looks great already. Maybe just a respray might rekindle the love!

I guess im just not a fan of that particular kit.

Maybe something more subtle like 964 Turbo parts with aero mirrors?

I do like the look of my car now, but I want to make it more individual, and out of all the kits I've seen this is my favourite. Sorry to those that don't like it.

My second preference is to go with just the 964 C2 update (965 turbo kit), but that's a bit more common and I don't think it looks quite as good.

Anyway, better bodies is the only place I've seen it advertised where it is still available, so I think I may have to do an international order as I doubt I'll find it anywhere else in Australia.

I was hoping someone wuld reply and say " Yeah I just fitted that kit and the quality of parts and fit is fantastic!". Guess I'm a dreamer hehe.

Thanks for the replies though.
