For the record: I never inteneded to start or be part of all this negativity on Pelican. I am normally not a negative person. I simply posted in my first post what I believe to be a truthful statement. This statement was not intended to open a whole can of worms, but rather, merely to tell Dave why I would not be seeing him in California next month with Millie. I PM'd Dave the moment I saw this thread going in the wrong direction and apologized to him for contributing to that wrong direction. I have intentionally stayed out of this banter, because I do not believe it is productive for me. Call it crying, sour grapes or whatever you want, but there is a truth to my disagreement with R Gruppe, and it is obvious to many (including some R Gruppe members) who is in the right on this one.
I apolgize to Pelican for bringing negativity to such a great Porsche resource. Our lives should be about driving the cars we love and hanging out with friends. Politics are just an annoyance and should stay out of it. Many of you know me, and know that I am a man with principals and I stand up for what is right. I obviously wrongly contributed to negativity on Pelican...for this I am sorry. My original edited (added language as promised to my source, I did not delete any language) post is as follows: Would love to have joined you Dave, as you know that I just completed the heart, lung and kidney transplant of my '70 T (a.k.a. Millie). Unfortunately, I was asked/told not not to attend Treffen. :( Edit: I told the person that is the subject of this post (not Randy) that I would include what he believes was said to me. Apparently I was told that there was an individual that would be on the drive down to California that does not like me and that would make the trip "uncomfortable", so it may be best not to sit passenger in his car down to Treffen or drive my own car with the gruppe down to Treffen. I think I got that right. For the record: I get along and hang out with most of the R Gruppe members in Washington. I think the individual members are great people. There is only one member that has chosen to make it his business to kill the invitation that I was again "told" surely would have been forthcoming. I have since told my contact in R Gruppe that if an invitation came forward at this time, I would reject it, because I feel that I have been treated wrongly by the gruppe and I believe the gruppe has gotten away from its roots. I hope the gruppe gets back to its original intent and stops with all these politics. My intention is to not post any more regarding this matter in this thread, as I believe it would be very unproductive. See you all in other threads. SmileWavy |
Scott, you seem a lot like me, which is what gets me in trouble most of the time. ;) We both need to just let things go.
As someone once said, "If someone talks badly about you, act so as no one would believe him." I don't do groups too well (any, civic and otherwise) and I suspect you don't either. Probably best we drive at our own pace, if you catch my meaning. But, we can still tag along. :) Edit:"Scott, you seem a lot like me, which is what gets me in trouble most of the time." That wasn't written too well. You don't get me in trouble, I get myself in trouble with a trait we might share. |
