Are you stiffening the ride or just lowering the car? If you are just lowering the car then you will not need to buy any parts. Do a search there are a lot of threads on how to lower your car (adjuster bolts in front and reindexing torsion bars in back). Plan on an alignment and corner balance when you are done lowering it.

Hi,

Welcome to the best 911 Forum in the universe. Please post some pictures.

Lowering a 911 is very simple, a turn of screw will lower the front and re-indexing the torsion bar will lower the rear.

Our host has published a book, "101 Projects for your 911". This is one of the projects. The book is well worth the cost.

Once you have lowered your car, your alignment and corner balance will be messed up and you will need to get your car properly aligned and corner balanced (hopefully at a shop that specializes in 911's). You may need to address bump steer as well.

Since this work will require you to perform an alignment and corner balance, you should consider replacing any worn bushings, shocks and other steering/suspension components at the same time to save time and money (in the long run).

Several years ago, I refreshed my suspension. To figure out what to do, I used the button at the top right hand corner of the screen to get ideas. I also consulted with two local experts (Steve Weiner - he posts here and at Rennlist, and Jeff Gamroth - 2002 LeMans Crew chief ofhte year for Alex Job). The results were most excellent.

Anyway, there is lots of info on this topic and if you have questions, ask away....
