Fort Wayne IN -cold day-amazing cars

Odaniels Porsche in Fort Wayne recently had a promo day. I found some nice cars there even though the forecast was for rain/snow.

This is the real deal 73 RS. I spoke with the owner, Brian, it was in Switzerland and lived for a long time in Australia.

Brian,
Your RS looks great....wow what a Porsche ! You must be very happy with how the resto turned out. One of these days I'll make it out to a mid-west event & see your RS in person.

Cheers,

The car looks (and drives!) even better than it appears in photos. What's cool about Brian's RS is it's history and just the right amount of patina.

In the photos it looks sort of like a short wheelbase, which would make it a '68 or older. The '69 was the first LWB. Just wondering. The angle of the pic may be misleading, too.

That car has 68-69 "winged" door handles, & 1st year of the
Weltmeister sticker....so it's a 1969 model

Turn indicators, Torsion tube opening, rearview mirror placement and no wing windows plus the door handles all scream definitive 69.

Yup, Brian's car is nicer in person than in pictures. I cannot vouch for the driving aspect yet, though. Brian, you can help me with that right? Hey, that was yesterday... Aren't you supposed to be in the office?

Hey Doug thanks for the nice photos and comments about the car. It was great to meet you at O'Daniels. Be sure to come to the Taj event next month in Dayton so you can meet the other long hood lovers here in the Midwest.

Yep the 912 is a '69, was originally from CA and was driven back to the Midwest after the purchase. The owner is a great guy too BTW.

Hey Brain, My usually fee applies. Just kidding, of course. You made the entire show worthwhile IMO. I have never seen the real McCoy in person, and I was not disappointed. Your car is perfect! No, the pictures don't do it justice. It was also a pleasure to meet you.

I agree with Brain the guys out there are a great bunch.

Does anyone know the date for the Taj event? I went to the Taj website, but couldn't tell which date the event was, as there were several dates listed.

I hope I can make the event. Werner's garage (Ft Wayne) is going over my engine to help with a gas in the oil problem. So far I have 150's and a 130 compression so I think the culprit is in my injectors.

Doug,

Check is in the mail.

Yeah the Taj Speedfest page is a bit confusing. Here is a link to the events, but the main stuff is Memorial Day weekend.

http://www.tajmagaraj.com/speedfest.php

There are events Sat.- Mon. If you can make it try to come sometime Saturday and stay through till Monday. Sunday is a really fun day with the tour, car show and evening with Vic Elford. Be sure to get tickets for those events.

If you can make for Saturday let me know as there is a 'secret Midwest longhood BBQ' you don't want to miss.

Hope you get to bottom of the MFI issue. Sounds like a good idea to remove the injectors and check the spray pattern. One or more maybe sticking or opening incorrectly.
