While i was snapping pictures I overheard from an employee, that they will be going into production within the next 60 days and plan to produce 20-25 cars/year.

The only problem is they also sounded positive when they first debut the car at BRI Road America July 2005 when his son? was driving it around the paddock. It is cool and small. We can only hope.

There is a guy here about 2 miles from my place that has built his own 904 chassis and has made 3 bodies so far, all from molds pulled off an original car. Looks cool....
I wish the Beck one makes it production, but I will believe it when I see it. Cheers

I also heard that a roller starts at $50000 and expect a complete car to at least total $65000

I'd like to take some of the 904's roof off and make it into a Targa.
I would not do that to the real thing, but a Kit Car? Why not?

I met Chuck here in Atl at a local car meet. He let me sit in that very car. It has a 3.2 that is producing about 250 hp so it will flat go. He was very easy to talk to and loves to talk cars.
He was pretty certain about producing more of the 904 but he said he was having trouble finding the right fabricator that would build the cars body work up to his standards. I can't say for sure how true that is but he really seems to be a pretty straight shooter so I believe him. He was talking with SuperPerformance about doing it but he didn't know if they would work out. That is one replica I would definitely like to get if it becomes available.

I saw this car and it looks great! I've always loved 904's. I can't believe I missed Chuck there. I met him about 20 years ago out in CA when I toured his shop. At the time I was interested in a 550. We took one out and went for lunch. Lot's of fun. He showed me the 904 prototype then. Looked good. When I looked at the car at Hershey I looked for Chuck. I didn't see him but perhaps I'm thinking of how he looked 20 -25 years ago. Guess I look different too now.

Dave, you Dog!! you did go after all! Kudos to you for making the trip. I drove by your place Saturday afternoon about 4:30p.m. and saw the "open" sign was lit. I figured you didn't go and stayed in Vernon. Thats a long haul after working all day. I give you credit man. Will stop by the only so we can shoot the s--t about Hershey. Nice pics of the 904 too...

The person I spoke with said that the car at Hershey was the 3rd prototype. He also said they were going to start making them somewhere in Pennsylvania. They had just started the engine so my hearing was inhibited. You should have seen them put it on the trailer. Whomever was driving lit up the back wheels putting it onto the trailer. I thought they were going to launch the car. I did not get a very good look at it. My car was for sale a couple spaces down, not quite on the same caliber.

The guy with the straw hat, in the first picture, is Chuck Beck.
