3.2 motor installed in 72 with 72 oil tank
I am installing an 86 3.2 motor in my 72 and would like to use the 72 oil tank rather than replacing it with a later tank. I will also install a fender oil cooler. The car will be used for autox, DE and limited street driving. Should this oil capacity be sufficient for cooling and lubrication?

yes. you should have no issue. you should run the front cooler in the right fender. but the 72 oil tank is what I use for my 993 engine in my 72. feel free to send me a PM with any additional questions. good luck!

Welcome aboard Paul! Here's a shot of my oil tank when I pulled it out due to leaks. It was VERY nasty and dirty up there and really needed the cleaning. As we talked about, I have not expanded the capacity and don't plan on it. I have a fender cooler to install and that should keep things cool enough. If not, I"ll cross that bridge whan I get to it. Some people "over-engineer" their projects a little. That's not a bad thing but it's a fact.
Now get that pic of your car posted!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
