Watkins Glen open for the season today

Today was opening day at the Glen, with a Toyota Opening Day celebration, and the track was open to the public for pace laps($20. donation to Victory Junction Gang Camp and local charities). News for this year is the removal of the concrete strips in the corners. Nice and smooth now. Also, the Glen Club is gone, having burned down over the winter. The Glen Club was a VIP venue and was near the usual Porsche corral area. Had a nice rooftop bar with a great view-dang, hate to see that gone..

it was awsome. My first time taking laps in the porsche or at all for that matter. Somehow i got in for free. I showed up the same time that a porsche club from buffalo did and did laps with them. Guess they thought i was in the club. Or is it automatic when you have a porsche? Anyway im so glad i did because it was awesome and im sure we went a much higher pace than a regular group would have. Hershey yesterday, the glen today. Awsome weekend!
