Master Cyclinder Brake Switch Problem

I have an 86 Carrera and the brake lights do not work. I bought two of the 2 prong (113.945.515H) parts and now I have the problem that the old ones are the narrow type while the new ones are the wide type. The Pelican catelog says that you will need an adapter to use the wide type.

Did porsche make an adapter to convert from the narrow two prong to the wide two prong?

Can't I just make up a short wire harness using a pair of male/female spade connectors that will allow me to connect the two together? I checked some old threads, but I didn't see anything about building an adapter.

I guess I could also pull the wires out of the existing white plastic connector and pull them straight onto the new sensors.

Lastly, I need to get my car back on the street again (daily driver). Will the light work if I only replace one of the senors and leave the other one for next weekend?

The problem is knowing which one is for the rear brake lights. It'll be a 50-50 shot.

If you find out which one is definitely for the rear brake lights, I'd like to know since I need to change mine also.

I had the same problem. I install them anyway and connect the new switch to existing socket with 2 short wires.

I had the same problem as well, so I removed the plastic connector and connected them up directly. Works just fine.
