911SC Badge Location
Any help on the appropriateness / location of the 911SC badge on a car that has a tail? I've seen many pics of cars on the net and in books with the 911SC badge when there is no tail but have never seen a badge on a car with a tail.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1177982866.jpg Looking to purchase this badge from our host in black and have it chromed, as our car is black. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1177983117.gif Our backside looks like this: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1177983308.jpg I believe the tail is a period correct option that may have been added after the original purchase. It has the Porsche crest, etc. have just never seen the 911SC badge with the turbo tail and don't want to add the badge if it's a big faux pas. Was thinking of cutting off the studs and using adhesive so at least the look would be reversible if it didn't work out. Quick and dirty PhotoShop for first impressions: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1177984293.jpg Apprceiate any thoughts / flames / etc. Thanks. Mike |
Just my opinion but I would leave it off....looks great as is. I think that I just dislike the font that the '911SC' badge is in more than having the badge there ... boxy and kinda fugly...but just my opinion. Would look neat in a script lettering or similar.

Mine has one. I agree that the font looks like something from the Mod Squad but it is part of the SCWDP...

Leave it off.

It is too massive for the space below the tail. I's leave it off.

Appreciate the feedback.
Wilke, Did you or the PO add the 911SC badge or is there evidence that the location on your car was there from the factory? Thanks. Mike |
Mike, I put the emblem on there using two sided tape so if I need to I can take it off and go back to no emblem. The tail was obviously added so there was no emblem in this area.
