930 transmission??
Hey all,
When I purchased my 1978 911sc RUF this past fall the po said it had a 930 transmission. I thought he was probably confused on the numbers and assumed it was a 915. I was recently reading over an appraisal of the car that was done in 1991 and it states that the transmission was upgraded to a 930 by ruf as well as some engine modifications. My question is, does this mean a transmission from a 930 turbo or can anyone give me additional info on a 930 transmission? I am still a newby and trying to learn as much as I can. Or, was the appraisal company given incorrect info from the po back in 1991? Thanks |

For staters a Ruf SC? what parts does it have? Ruf made a $$ 5 speed trans of their own whereas the normal 930 had the 4 speed till the 89.

I wouldnt consider a 930 4-speed an upgrade over a 915 and because your car is a 3.2 you probably have the 915. I really dont see why one would install a very rare RUF 5 speed on a car with 220 hp. If you had the turbo 500 plus hp motor than it would make sense. Sounds like you have a few RUF style body panels on your SC.

You need to get the numbers off of the trans, and post some photos also. Anything else is just wild speculation.
