SWB spring plates
Anybody just shortened the adjustable oem spring plates? Or do es everybody default to the aftermarket Weltmeister?

Never even thought of that. I don't have a LWB to compare to my SWB but won't the adjustment holes be in the wrong place after you shorten it? Unless you are talking about moving the torsion tube portion by cutting it off and rewelding. By the time you do that you could probably have made new ones

For a '66 the bushing size is different, you would have to shorten the LWB adjustables, create the adjustment holes and get custom bushings to fit. Once it's not original, why not get the SAW?
