Can you advise on what to do with the various brackets and tabs that cover the rear - flatten, grind off, leave as is for future use, but cover with something (foam) to allow the carpet to fit flat?

Would you fill all the little screw holes used for previous carpet, seats etc?

The seat bottoms have what look like large rubber circel pieces in them, and one is poor and you can see daylight through it - can you replace these.

Hi Ian - I think you'll find that many (most?) people - including me - cut all the brackets/protrusions off & glue the LWT carpet direct to the (painted) sheet metal.

Those circular recesses with half the circumference 'open' are to allow any water which has collected in the seat pan recesses to drain out. I tapped them closed & wiped around the edge with seam sealer before installing the carpet.

I left mine on for possible future use. I made a replacement panel for the window shelf and glued over the rest.

I think there are plastic plugs for some of the screw holes and... I think these are the p/n's - plucked it off of a recent post on Early 911S bbs...

p/n 901 803 115 20 and the washer is
901 803 115 20.
Stoddards had the plugs in stock but had to back order the washers.

Randy - are those the 'blanking' screws for the rear lap belt pre-threaded holes you refer to - I have a couple of these, but need four in total.

Also need the same for the seat belt pre-threaded holes in the three quarter panels.

Rich - how did you make a replacement shelf - that looks flat and neat ?

Yes they are the correct plugs.
Randy borrowed part of my thread from the Early S site.
I ordered eight of each just in case I was too enthusiastic screwing them in - the plugs are only light plastic.
Stoddards can get them - I think I tried Pelican but to no avail.

Well I finally got around to buying myself an angle grinder - boy those things are loud and give a great spark shower show:)

I removed the 3 mounting tabs at the corner of the rear panel and the quarter panel join area, along with those in the centre rear panel.

I have left the large centre seat bracket, as the carpet should stretch over this just fine - and it is way too big for me to cut off - the spark show in the car would be awesome though:D

I will not be fitting the carpet until I decide upon the cage and harness arrangement, so I can fit it around them.

I have however bought two of the BF Torino Rally ST seats - they are on their way from Italy right now.

spray some primer or rust stuff where you were grinding

I am going to use my new angle grinder and 'flap belt attachment' to remove any final residual pieces of glue, and then POR-15 the entire rear seat area.

Sills and floor pans will be left as are (no rust and really solid) and then carpeted direct on top.
