915 108mm Flange Question

I recently bought a 108mm 915/G50 flanges, fine spline, because I have 930 axles. When I compared them to the current flanges on the trans that are the early 4 bolt 2 pin type they are the same diameter ~ 108mm. I was under the impression that the early flanges were 100mm and the new ones I bought are the stonger larger 108mm.

Other than one set of flanges being 6 bolt VS 4 + 2 pins and Fine VS course splin is there any size or strength difference between the two?

The earlier flanges are still in the trans so perhaps there is some hidden diffences I cannot see at the moment.

I can definently see the difference in the CV joints~the 930 CVs are more than twice as thick but the same diameter as the early CVs however

I think the early ones might be coarse spline
