How can this happen????
Been having some intermittent trouble with the AC. Check the fuse this morning and..OMG the plastic fuse housing is completely melted away.
But the metal fuse strip is still in place and connected!! WTF! This is a 25A fuse for the AC & power seats. Any ideas what could cause this?

corrosion at the terminals is my 1st guess...

Must of had a plastic body. The ones with the ceramic body aren't going to melt like that.
Oh man...add that to my list: Make sure all my fuses are ceramic.

Yes it's plastic - or was. The contacts didn't appear to be corroded, but who knows scraping the melted plastic off could have cleaned that up somewhat. As long as I was at it I cleaned up all the contacts. Hopefully that's all it was.
