3.2 stereo

Hello,

I am looking to replace a stereo on a 3.2, does anyone have any experience with new units. Also has anyone changed out speakers and had good results?

Thanks,

Greg

M&K is a good stereo for the 3.2

OK - I swapped out mine with a Eclipse CD head unit because it was black and was functionally acceptable.

I replaced my speakers with Infiniti 4x6 and 5x7

I really wasnt concerned with a kicking system just something that sounded decent.

I bought a $200 Alpine CD player from Worst Buy and Pioneer two-ways from the Wmart. Clearly, I'm no highbrow audiophile, but for $250, it works fine and sounds good.

samsnead,

Here's what I did a few months back and placed in another post:

Doors - Alpine SPS-13C2 2-way 5.25" speakers. These fit perfectly in the existing space where the mid-bass original speakers were. The original factory grills wouldn't fit on these speakers so I went with the Alpine grills which are silver but not too glitzy. The stereo tech disconnected the diplexers and disconnected the factory tweeters which were left in place in the doors.

Rear shelf - Alpine SPS-4629 (same as SPS-46C2 but being closed out) 2-way 4"x6" speakers. These fit perfectly in place of the original Blaupunkt 2-ways that were part of the hi-fi package. The factory grills fit over these speakers using some double-sided foam tape.

The radio (Alpine CDA-7838 installed by PO) sounds very good now and I can get enough volume to hear it over the engine which was my original goal.

Regards,
David.
