Stone guards for wide body

I have a 78 sc widebody conversion. Its in the bodyshop and just got a fresh new paintjob. Should I put on a set of the stone guards for the rear quarters or if I leave them off will I get rock chips? I like the car with or without them.

if you like them without, you can put clear plastic covers there to protect from chips.

You will probably get rock chips unless you put stone guards on, either clear or regular. Depending on the color of your car, the black ones can look good.

Best to install them... I have a 91 Cab with wide body and those rear qtrs get a lot of rock chips if not protected... do not ask me how I know

This is my 78. I think the stoneguards dress up 930 flairs. Even in low contrast mode on a car like mine. They really pop on light colored cars.

I custom-cut the panels using Ray Allen's Wing Walk material...a nice substitute with fine pebble grain structure like the original. This stuff is used for aircraft. See here, last item on page--->

Personally, I'd put on the 3-M clear material used for noses. This way, you have protection without the "jump out look" of black stone guards. Plus, you don't have to vinylex them every time you wash the car.
