1970 911E oil filter

I need to replace the oil filter, first time, Unfortunately I threw out the old one assuming that it was a "standard" 911E filter. I just picked one up a a local dealer and although it is the correct part number is to large for the threads where it would attach to the car. I have done some searching and do not find that there were more then one size. As far as I know the PO never changed anything related to the oil system. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The part number listed is the same as the filter that I got at least according to Porsche. part 930-107-764-01 is supposed to be the same?

wrong one that is for a '72 and newer. You need: 901-107-203-09-M67
