rsr mufflers

hi, i'm getting a set of georges headers and am looking into muffler options. has anyone heard these from GT racing? they are a muffler version of megaphones. they claim they max out at 105db and are streetable. this is for a street legal race car. i don't want to set off car alarms but do want a good race sound. i think i found that ben's short race mufflers max out at 111db and some of you say they are borderline streetable. it's my understanding that the separate mufflers do not have the droning problem of traditional 911 mufflers. what do you guys think?

At a recent track day I stood on the edge of the track with a sound meter checking the sound levels of the cars in the Advanced Racer group. I did it out of curiosity/reference. The loudest car was a Ford GT40 that practically made your ears bleed and the meter had it at 99 dB. Now, I could never imagine a car as loud as that on the street. Point is, 105 dB is IMHO not streetable. I thought my car was borderline streetable and the sound meter had me at 88 dB!

i think the db levels are far closer to the tailpipes than being on the side of the track. 105 db at the tail pipe may be in the 90db range from the side of the track, i'm not sure where these measurements are from however. i'm just hopeing someone has heard these in person.

I was probably 50-60 feet back on the main straight at Infineon. No experience with those mufflers, but they look cool!

You answered a question for me, and did not even realize it. I posted a question weeks ago about who made that bracket. GT Racing. Thanks.

I'll post a link to a couple of mufflers that might work for you, but I need to find it first.
