1980 911 SC fuel pump

My 911s fuel pump that was sitting for last 20 years is dead. Is there anybody that knows the difference between 1980 fuel pump and later that are cheaper? Looks like the BOSCH for later models is much cheaper.

The pressure changes with the Carrera pumps, they won't work forCIS
80 to 83 are external check valves, the 77 to 79 have different fittings on the fuel lines and internal check valves.
the 80 to 83 is the only correct pumps

FP replacement.........

Do you know the part # on your FP? There are so many Bosch FP's that would work for your '80 SC namely: 0-580-254-984/985/053. I've been using -984 and quite happy with it. Others have used non-Bosch FP like Walbro and heard good feedback with it too. What you need is a high pressure FP (90 - 100 psi.) , a flow rate of 2 liters per minute (minimum) , and comparable size. Preferable replacement FP is Bosch 0-580-254-series but other brands would work too.

I found here Bosch Part #: 911-608-102-02-M14 for $254.50

and i also found Bosch Part #: 69513 for $ 129.97

I am not trying to be cheap but they look the same, they are both Bosch and it says it is for Porsche 911.

old pump number is 0 580 254 053

I found more details and the Bosch Part #: 69513 and it seams to be same as OEM Part Number 0 580 254 984

it also looks like the original pump specs are:

175 l/h (2.9 l/min) 5 bar (72.52 PSI) 11.5 A

and the specs for 0 580 254 984 are:

165 l/h ( 2.75 l/min) 5 bar (72.52 PSI) 10 A

There are many Bosh fuel pumps. But most important are the pressure and pumping capacities. All other part numbers refer to the input and output connections. I understand that Bosch fuel pumps are interchangeable between cars of different makers as long as the pump specifications are identical. Walbro pumps have the same specifications and are also interchangeable but they have a reputation of being less reliable. But at their price you can afford to carry a spare.

Here is a short list of Bosch fuel pump specifications.

OK, never mind the pump the fuel tank is totally corroded! I searched all threads and the only reasonably solution is to buy a new one.

- new tank
- new fuel lines
- and yes almost forgot ;-) new fuel pump

Thanks for all help!
