78 911 Sc

I am a possible new Porsche 911 SC owner, I've found a 78 that is very clean Motor supposedly rebuilt 9K ago and its a 130K car. Black on Black with 944 8 Way seats and a clean interior.

It has
930 Sterring wheel
911 Whale Tail
4.5 B&B stainless Ehaust
Carerra Tensioners
Poppoff Vale and valve covers
Comes withe cover and a bentley manual

The gears grind ever so slightly from 1st to 2nd the car runs very well and is very tight. Beautiful interior engine hardly smokes at start up does backfire slightly does leak a little oil.

Is it worth 9K?

Thanks,
Paul

You have to get a PPI .. plus the paper work for the rebuild. Sounds like the syncros are shot in the tranny too. Forget the "clean" motor its not all that hard to make it look pretty.

You are getting a leakdown, compression test, and checking studs, right? $9k sounds too cheap for that car (with the rebuild) so I'd be suspicious.

Even with the tranny issue, which simply may be the fact that you're not used to shifting a 915 transmission, 9k is a very good price for the car if it checks out. Dash, interior ok? Been wrecked?
