A different alternator shim question

Just finished removing the alternator due to a bad voltage regulator. This is the first time I've had the fan belt off since I bought the car and lo & behold there were SEVEN shims! Everything I've read says there should only be six. The belt size I took off is 12.5 X 1160 but Pelican lists the belt form an '86 as 9.5 or 10 X 710.

So now what? Do I just replace the belt with the 10 X 710 that I have on order and reassemble with 6 shims?
