crown isle 2007, maybe even with pics....

well, i need to re-size all the pictures cause i took them with a 5mg-pixel camera... but i'll start the write up as i downsize them.

It was a great weekend, ending the day before summer classes started so it worked out great for me.

All weekend was beautiful weather, could not have been better. Any warmer and I would have had to worry about sweating, and cooler and more then t-shirts and shorts might have been needed. not windy, but not dead. No rain, very little clouds... just perfect.

The event included a golf challange, simulator racing, remote control racing, show'n'shine, poker, tech quiz, treasure hunt of sorts, driving tour, and of course lots of food and interesting conversations.

First place at the show'n'shine went to a mint condition 1989 911 turbo cab, in gaurds red over black.
second went to my mechanics car (the hotly debated 911 spyder)
and third to my favorite, a tastefully modded 930, laying down 430hp at the rear wheels, with CIS.

i was 4th by a single vote, not that i care that much but it is nice to know that some other ppl like my ideas as well.

- downsizing failed, gonna do the imageshack thing.... and looking the the photos i'll admit i was very selfish, most of them were of my own car...so deal w/it

Your car? Is that a plexi air itake grille w/ 911 script?

Do you get enough air flow through it? Not sure it would work in Arizona.

yup that one would be mine.

i am not happy with the finished product, i had planned on about 3-4x as much cutout as what was delivered, however it will be sorted out in the next week, and so far even as is there has been no over heating problems... never crossed the 180 mark, though i do have 3 oil coolers...(front lip, fender and engine).

and there are still the holes from where the turbo tail sat.... dunno how but according to the body shop there was a "miscommuncation" as to what was being done... they though they were charging 500 for a quick spray job, i though i was getting 5 holes welded up and a scratch re-paired then a front/back paint job..... thankfully i have the quote in writing so it should all be fine, just didn't do as well at the show as i would have liked...

yup, it was a beautiful weekend.

Just curious - where was this? I assume somewhere in BC judging by the plates. Is it an annual event? I'm a Vancouverite currently living in LA.

The event is held at Crown Isle golf resort in beautiful Courntey located mid-Vancouver island. It is about 2 1/2 hours north of victoria, 1 hour past Nanaimo.

It is held every year some time in May, i believe scheduling is decided by the long term forcast, and this year the forecast held true!!!!!

lol try and keep up with me? i'm 99% sure i look like a drunk driver compared to half of you guys here on the forum.

add to that my girlish level of fear and i'm happy being the thrid car, not the leader.

i am actually trying to plan a far east (ontario) road trip, if i can get away with that i'll forsure swing down to run a few hot laps with the bastards, and of course some beers.

it would be even better to have another porsche guy around my same age, we could have an adventure to say the least.

actually, at the event, instead of my car being called a bastardized 911 they called it an outlaw 911, something about that sounds bad ass and high class, i think i like it for a future lisence plate.

Excellent pictures.

This is an interesting car... Any info on this?

Went past this one the first time, thought about it, then backed up.

that is an intermacanica (sp) 356 replica with sc flares, kinda wierd looking but neat at the same time. it had a very nice clean interior and i believe is powered by a vw type 4.... compelete road worthy car is low 30's (CDN)... the owner of the companys was there with his family, very nice guy, open to different ideas, the thing is his as well.

ya ya, white belt, quesitonable at best , however i forgot all my clothes for the weekend. so i had to get some gear to golf in, and I chose the shorts/shirt and then asked the cute girl serving me to choose a belt, she selected that one... wasn't my first pick, but i like the buckle....lol.... alright i'm a sucked for cute girls.....

Facey...Great photo work....love the composition and framing. What a great bunch of cars.

I'm confused by remarks about your white belt....your shoes are white..and your belt matches..PERFECT!!!
