Problem solved... Any high mileage SC'ers ever had this happen?
Thought i would give an update to this thread:
After 9 mos, FIXED/ Running great!!!..Wait, noo!!! After months of frustration, It seems that two of the spark plugs holes was loose 'beyond specs' and when the car heated up, they got looser, so loose in fact that my mechanic had to put time certs in them (!!) for the plugs to snug. I have been changing plugs so long in the 250,000 ml SC that i had no reference point, until i changed the plugs in Carrera i recently picked up, and noticed how tight they were. All makes sense, as the car ran ok when cold, the lost compression when hot. Guess i got to speed up the timetable for the top end rebuild.

Less brakes, more gas!

Not to be blunt... but, just how do you get all the metal chips out of the compression chamber after putting in the time cert threads? Bore scope check? Some could get stuck in oil that seeps into the chamber at the bottom... Could be fatal... then you will really be upping the top end rebuild!
Best regards, Michael

lots of grease on the tap helps catch the chips.
