Jack:
My first response went off into cyberspace. I'll give it another try.

From the Porsche 911 Red Book:

1970 911

911S Coupe Chassis # 9110300001 - 9110301744
(Chasis # end id Dec 1969 = 9110300757) Other Source

911 Engine Serial # 6300001 - 6302480 (911/02)
(Includes Coupes and Targas)

My 70S Targa - Engine # 6300801 was picked up at the factory on 22 Jan 1970

Thanks Al,

I might be buying a 70s

Jack:

The 70S is very desirable early 911, and is a quick/fast car. Peter Zimmerman refers to them as "a rocket". Good ones are priced accordingly. While I wasn't specific, the engine number range I showed is for 70S engines (Targas plus Coupes).
