interior lighting issue
OK, now I'm officially confused.
Vehicle: 1987 911 sunroof coupe. Problem: When in the center rocker switch position, the interior lights above the doors stay on when the doors are closed. Diagnostics (so far): No signs of a ground short, and the door switches seem to be working properly. But, there is an underhood connector (2 lead, red w. white stripe & brown wires) connected to nothing. BTW, the glove box lamp switch does not seem to be working properly, as that light also stays on when it should go off (probably unrelated?). My confusion is coming from my understanding that the door switches interrupt the ground, not the power. Is the interior lamp circuit connected somehow through a relay I don't know about, or are they directly switched via the door switches? I know this is a topic discussed before, but usually with the light not going on instead of (as in this case) staying on. Any suggestions? Thanks much. ![]() |
