valve adj after valve job?
i have just spent 6k on a valve job for my 82 cs. I'm now at 1k and have changed the oil filter and oil, and need advice on valve adjustment. at what point after a valve job should i adjust my valves? my tech tells me to wait until i get 3k on the valves. I'm not comfortable with this and think 1k is the point to adjust.

can't you get the entire bottom end of the engine rebuilt for 6K ? why did it cost so much ?

i suggest 1000 miles to my customers. $6K eh? gotta remember to bump up my rates.

ok, i looked at the invoice again. $3k for valve job the rest was for the clutch, ring set and one piston plus reseal engine. the jiggly girl might have help, but i left here at home.
the valves are getting adjusted today at 985 miles. thanks!! |
