My SC finally leaves home
I actually sold my car last October, but the buyer, in Atlanta, didn't have room for the car during home remodeling. The new owner is a business associate/friend who's wife saw my ad here at Pelican and had to have it. At least I know it will be well cared for as it has for the last 26 years.
Anyway, after a little more than 3 years of ownership, the car left SoCal Monday morning for a quick stop in Phoenix, then off to Atlanta. The Chiffon White '81 SC was nothing but fun from day one. My only regret is not getting more time to drive it. This website greatly increased my enjoyment of ownership. I want to thank Wayne and his crew of moderators for their support. Also the contributions by the knowledgeable folks here can not be applauded enough as they really make this forum what it is. This was my first 911 and it didn't seem so scary knowing that help was only the Pelican Parts Forum away. Thanks all. I will be hanging around even though Porscheless for now. I'm thinking 993 .... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I remember your car from a lunch time lapping session at Fontana. It was (is) very nice. Sorry to see it go, but you'll move up to better.

Beautiful car. I'm guessing it was tough to finally see it go.

David, I'm hoping it's tucked close enough to pick up the draft and most of bugs will hit the ass of the SUV behind it. If I were buying, I would probably splurge for an enclosed trailer. Fuel prices are making transporting a huge cost of buying a car out of state now. Rick, Her name is Grace and she doesn't know it's finally coming. Husband is hoping to sneak it into the garage on arrival. Milt, That 1 hour follow the leader was the best $20 I ever spent! I wasn't prepared to run damn near at my limit and I shouldn't have carried my brother in law because together we are 1/4 ton! He did take a few good pictures though. ![]() ![]() |
