Quick question about turn signal switch
I am replacing my turn signal switch due to the high beam / lo beam switch burnout issue . I have put in a relay kit and all is okay I think.
My Question : There is a single wire connector in the midle of the wiring harness on both the new and old switch, connecting the two " yellows" together . Should this be connected ? I imagine it should but why would there be such a connector there ? it was NOT configured this way on my car and the P.O had the yellow wire from the plug end hooked directly to the headlight on switch so BOTH hi and lo were on when you went to the high beams. Any insight would be hlpfull Thanks |

May I suggest that you add your car's profile to your signature. The wires vary a lot over the years, so no one can definitively state the answer without knowing more about your car.
Also, it is hard to understand what you are seeing based upon your description. A picture might encourage more responses.

My Appologies .. sometimes I get ahead of myself.
I have a 78 SC and am replacing the turn signal and hi / lo assm. see the one pictured below . it has a connector connecting 2 yellow wires. i am just looking for confirmation that these should be connected together as it seamed quite odd that there would be a connector at this location. I do not think the PO had it wired correctly and there is no mention of this in the Bentley. Thanks and I will work on my profile details .. ![]() |
