Looking for parts for a fuel distributor
The control piston in my fuel distributor was stuck. I took the fuel distributor apart and cleaned it out. The piston moves freely now. But I can't find the orings that go inside the fuel distributor that I need to reassemble it. Does anyone know where I cna get these parts? Has anyone rebuilt their fuel distributor or is this something I should let a repair shop do.
I'd like to keep my original fuel distributor on the car. Thanks |

ARe you looking for the seals that attach the FD to the air meter housing? I think some of the internal seals are hard to find.
Here is the Pelican page with CIS Fuel Dist. parts. http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911M/POR_911M_FULcis_pg8.htm#item32

I am looking for the internal seals. There are 6 small o rings that go inside the fuel distributor. But I will also need the seal that goes between the fuel distributor and the base.
Thanks |

I "rebuilt" the fuel dist in my 928 a few months back and was able to find Viton o-rings for all the internal seals (13 parts ?). The place I sourced them from did all sorts of custom gaskets as well as providing bulk and rebuilt hoses for hydraulics and such (served the trucking and agriculture industies); look for someplace similar in your area.

Internal fuel distributor o-rings
Mike,
In doing a search, I can across your old post. Since I have the same dilemma, I wonder if you ever found the fuel distributor o-rings your were looking for? I cleaned and reassembled the FD from my '74. Unfortunately, through a combination of old o-rings and ham fisted workmanship, I cut all 6 around the metering slits. The little spring spacers cut them right up! I'd appreciate hearing what you ended up doing! Thanks, Kirk PS: Want to know what happens when those are cut? Control pressure leaks to the injector side of the of the FD, and you get full blast spray all the time! Ha! |
