Vacuum Line Help Needed

I've decided to get back to fixing my distributor / timing problem.

I am certain the PO has garbled the vacuum lines, but before I start unplugging and replugging, I thought it best to seek guidance.

I have reviewed the diagrams in the thread 2.7 CIS WUR and Dizzy vacuum lines routing.

but unfortunately they don't answer all my questions.

As I received the car, the "vacuum" line plugged into my distributor disappears behind the firewall. When I blow into it, and air comes back through the line, it has a distinct gas smell. No idea where the other end connects.

The line coming from the lower part of the throttle housing (toward the rear of the car, next to the air filter) runs around to the back of the throttle housing (front of the car). There is no "T" connection as referenced in the other thread. If this is to go to the distributor, what goes where this line is now plugged?

The outer line from the thermo valve is plugged into the WUR, the center line from the thermo valve connects to a "T", with one end going to the back (front side of car) of the throttle housing, and the other going into the top side of the vacuum control.

I really need help in untangling this mess, thanks

Attached below is the diagram Grady posted on the other thread for reference.

Additional information.

The line currently connected to the distributor is cloth covered. Could this be a vent from the gas tank?

Assuming this is the gas tank vent, the cannister has been removed from the passenger side. Should I just plug it off?
