Acetone OK for rear window tint adhesive removal?
Fortunately, my rear window tint peeled off in one/two big sheets. Now I'm left with the glue...
![]() I parked the car in the sun and let the glue get "gummy". A rag soaked in "Goo Be Gone" removes it, but takes a whole lot o' rubbin'... Is acetone safe to use on the interior of the windows? I remember reading somewhere that certain windshields are coated (safety glass?) and this coating can be damaged if too harsh a chemical is utilized. ![]() P.S. - I did a search here for tint removal, but couldn't find anything indicating acetone was OK/Not OK... |

I'm sure you can find something much less nasty than acetone that will work.
